DTP Software and User Manual
DoD DTP software/application is used by all Services worldwide to standardize the random selection of individuals to be tested for the use of illegal substances, to generate required legal documentation of specimen collections and is critical to the operation of the drug testing programs and laboratories (FTDTL).
Critical Note 1 (DTP 5.x): DoD Services and Forensic Toxicology Drug Testing Laboratories (FTDTL) will terminate all uses and support for all versions of DTP 5.x on 22 JUL 2022.
Critical Note 2 (DTP 6.x): ALL Army units/DTP users need to contact the installation DTC/ADCO by 01 DEC 2021 for guidance and training on mandatory implementation of DTP Lite 6.x, WebDTP, and 2D drug testing process. Mandatory implementation of 2D drug testing process by 23 JUL 2022.
Critical Note 3: Immediately, deploying units need to be trained on mandatory implementation of DTP Lite 6.x (or WebDTP) and 2D drug testing process.
Users need to contact the local DTC or ADCO to request the software package for DTP 5.x or DTP 6.x version. Collaborate with the local DTC or ADCO and IMO/IT Team for assistance with installation and configuration of the software.
DoD app-lock policy restricts the operation of self-executing DTP files within specific folder in government computers. ALL DTP users will need assistance from the local DTC/ADCO and IMO/CIO/IT Support Team to configure the DTP software and set the DTP folder permissions for the USERS group to have FULL CONTROL of the folder.
Mandatory use of DoDID has been implemented since January 2019. Specimens submitted with SSN will be REJECTED and NOT TESTABLE.
DTP 5.x packages (will be terminated and de-supported on 22 JUL 2022)
DTP 6.x package (mandatory implementation by 23 JUL 2022)
WebDTP Contact installation ASAP for instruction to establish a FTDTL Portal account and training on WebDTP procedures. * Training (TBD) (Deterrence PM decision?).
2D Drug Testing Procedure DoD FTDTLs will mandatorily apply 2D procedure on 23 JUL 2022. Army units MUST:
- Use DTP Lite 6.x or WebDTP to process drug testing selection, collection documentation (DD Form 2624, Testing Register, and Bottle Label),
- Retain collection documents (DD Form 2624, Testing Register, and Certificate of Correction) in the unit file holding area IAW the installation ASAP Policy, and
- STOP sending DD Form 2624 to FTDTL except necessary certificate of corrections.
Critical: Beginning 23 JUL 2022, DoD FTDTs will assign UNTESTABLE (FATAL) discrepancy code to specimens processed with DTP 5.x/DTPLite 5.x and 1D bottle labels and to specimens sent to FTDTLs with DD Form 2624 (except necessary certificate of corrections).
